Not sure if it's (the NTFS thing) a red herring or not but I'm unable to import any of my jpeg files copied from an NTFS volume into my MBPro's pictures\iphoto Library into iPhoto. I've tried importing whole folders, and individual files to no avail. They are viewable in preview and every other graphics app but iPhoto simply gives me an "unreadable" file error.
In an attempt to troubleshoot the problem I've changed the permissions on the files to read/write throughout but it still persists. Can anyone help me with this problem?
TIA
Edit: here is the exact file structure - pictures\iPhoto Library\from PC\directory name\filename.jpg . I just tried moving a jpeg into the the root of the pictures folder and the import worked fine. Am I running into some filname character limit with the Unix structure? My directory names are usually in the following format "06 12 xmas photos" etc.
Edit #2: I think I've figured it out. I had unchecked the "copy files to iPhotos Library" option in preferences but had moved the folders into the iphoto library folder. Obviously for the purposes of importing the folder needs to be out of the iphoto root or sub-folders.
Thanks for your time
