iPhoto updating library at every launch?

I love iPhoto but every time I launch it, it pops a message saying "Updating Photo Library" and a progress bar, and it takes literally minutes for me to regain control of my iPad. If it did it once I would understand, but every time I launch it? I do have over 8,000 pictures.

Anyone else experience this problem?

I am having the same problem. I contacted Apple and complained... what a pain not using it right now.

Mine seems to only do it when I have Photo changes from my Camera Roll or a new sync.
