this problem recently appeared.. i can't play some of my videos that are stored in iphoto... i am positive that they were able to be viewed before.... all i get is this screen from quicktime..

Are all your Apps. up to date?
Did you run permission repair, from disk utility.?

If you drag one of the videos out of iPhoto and on to your desktop. Will it play then?
what is the file extension for the videos? .mp4, .m4a, .AVI,. wmv

Sorry for the 100 questions. Just trying to learn more about your situation.
 
I agree with the other advise. We have to know what the file type is of the video files. Something seems to launch Quicktime, when you try to access these files, but it appears they are not completely recognized, thus only the QT generic window.
I don't think they'd be wmv format, because those are not directly compatible on a Mac, and require Flip4Mac to play back, but I don't believe iPhoto will let a wmv import.
OK...let us know if you have further info about this...or, maybe you've figured it out, in which case, we'd like to know about that too.
