Iphoto video missing but in imovie still?

I need help. I am editing some video, and i have figured out there is something wrong that is probably really easy to fix. I imported my camera to iphoto. All the videos and pictures were all imported. Some of the video and pictures show up in iphoto, but all the videos only show up in imovie (under the iphoto tab). I don't understand why I cannot see those videos I see in imovie, when it says they are in iphoto. Very strange, huh? Please help me because I am trying to edit a video with the iphoto video clips, but they are only in IMOVIE. And i need to copy them to my desktop. help.
