iPhoto - Why Cant I View Even Titles?

Im experiencing problems when trying to view Event Tiles within an Event.

When I drag a number of Events into one single Event, I then cant see the separate Event titles, as below...

Its always been like this, but im sure there must be a way of seeing the titles of all the separate Events? Ive looked through all the settings but cant seem to solve this. Any ideas please?
