and then Time Machine, despite showing them in the history, would not let me restore them! Bit concerning - not sure what happened but my iPhoto library dropped from 19GB to 680mb and had nothing left in it. Loaded up Time Machine, browsed back a couple of hours and they were all there but when I hit restore I got a series of errors claiming that it couldnt copy the data back from my external drive. Had a quick look on the drive and the iPhoto Library on there was only 680mb as well.
Thankfully I am paranoid and run multiple backups (I know way too many people who have lost years worth of photos) so have been able to recover it, but doesnt make me feel any better about the fact I have no idea why iPhoto munched them in the first place, nor why time machine wouldnt restore them. Only thing I did do today was run the iPhoto update to 7.1.
Anyone else had a similar problem? (am kicking myself for not writing down the message time machine was giving me but I hit a minor state of panic at the thought of losing my photos).
