I have been burning pictures to DVD for months through Iphoto and an external burner. Then today, iphoto tells me my burner is "reacting improperly." thinking the burner had gone bad, i bought a new one...just to have the same error message come up after connecting the new burner. any ideas? suggestions?

i did try to reinstall iphoto with the ilife '08 disc, but it didn't reinstall.
