iPhoto'09 Time Machine backup not recognized by iPhoto'11

Does anyone know how to get my iPhoto'09 pictures from my Time Machine backup in iPhoto'11? Migration Assistant does not recognize my backup either. Says I must update my "other" computer which is my external HD!!!!

I'm pretty sure you need to upgrade the iPhone '09 library before you can use it. But if opening the backup in iPhone '11 doesn't work at all, I think the backup has some issues.

I believe you were saying iPhoto not iPhone, anyways, how do I go about to update iPhoto'09 on my external HD that is only a backup in order for iPhoto'11 library to be able to download it. My other files work fine. iPhoto'11 does not want to recognize my pictures library. Thanks.
