I got an Ipod 10 gb software version 1.2.1.

I'd like to install version 1.2.6 but just had a question...

will i be able to install 1.2.1 again?

THANKS!! :)

You should be able to 'downgrade' to 1.2.1 if you wanted to..... But, I don't see anything wrong with 1.2.6. I have a 10 gig iPod like you and I haven't any problems and I've had it for about a week and a half. It reallllllly improves the battery.

If you saved the iPod Software Updater 1.2.1 you could restore the iPod's firmware to 1.2.1 through the restore option, which removes all of your songs and data on your iPod and refreshes all settings.

the problem is that european iPods should have a different volume from american ones...
...and the european volume (introduced in 1.2.2) is really really really really really lower....
i don't want my volume to be shut down!!

that's the problem....

anyway i'll try tomorrow.

thanks to anybody!

When the version number goes up it doesn't mean the volume goes down. It is just an improvement. 1.2.6 should not turn your volume off as this would render the iPod unusable. The whole purpose of 1.2.6 is to improve battery monitoring. Hope this helps !

Thanks to anyone.

I'll try asap to install 1.2.6 and i'll make you know....

Thanks again!

Let me tell you, jello. Having the original 5GB model is not an excuse. I have the same exact model (5GB) and can get well over five hours of battery life.

I suggest that you follow my iPod battery tips if you really feel you are not achieving great battery life.
