question,

the battery for the iPod 1 is a 10 Hour rechargeable battery and this iPod 2.0 is rated for 8 hours, Aren't we being a little ripped off??

A change in the components. Perhaps size and weight were more of a factor. You can now attach an external battery pack, something that I didn't think was possible with the older iPods.

Considering the iPod is smaller but larger (in a sense when talking GB's and features) i think its of little issue if you only get 8 hours of battery life from the iPod.

Besides, Apple offer other battery enhanceing devices when you shop for an ipod.
