iPod 2G: How to Tell Bootrom?

I want to know if there is a way (for a n00b) to tell what version of the bootrom is? Basically, I'm looking to buy a 2G iPod Touch on eBay and want to ask the seller what version it is but he may not know how to look it up....

Can it be told by any numbers on the back like a serial #...? Or in settings? Thanks

Yes, it's quite simple:

Go to Settings>General>About and look in the 'Model' field. As you probably know, if it starts with MC it has the latest bootrom.
