Just received a 2nd generation iPod. The device works fine and battery life is still amazing considering its age. The only thing which troubles me a bit is the sound when it skips from one title to another while playing music (a short, cracking noise). Is this normal? Otherwise, there is hardly any sound from the harddisk.
Thanks for your help!

Does it happen anytime you access information, or just when playing sound?

It happens just when playing sound, when it "jumps" to the next song. Not after ever song, though.
