On wednesday i plugged my ipod touch into charge and it completely turned off, and now will not respond to anything. Ive spent the past few days researching and cannot find a real solution. Everyone i've heard from says "take it to the apple store" but i really don't have enough money for whatever expensive thing they are going to try and make me buy. I know i can make a free appointment but still.

Now whenever i plug my ipod in, it just gets hot on the bottom.

The worst part is my sister used my wall charger to charge hers and now the same thing happened. I think the charger probably did this, as that is the only thing that both of our ipods did the same and had the same result.

Im hoping it is just the battery, but im also terrified that the whole ipod is done for. I received it as a gift (both me and my sister really) and neither of us have the money for replacements, but we both use them daily and feel quite miserable without them.

I had read a previously archived forum where someone had the same problem, but the solution had never been shared. Has anyone had a similar problem? Neither ipod was ever jail broken or anything like that. We literally both just plugged them into the wall and they both shut off and wont turn back on.
