iPod 3D vs. iPod 5G/5.5G Dock Connector

Would a car charger and/or dock connector for the iPod 3G work for the iPod 5G/5.5G

Of is the 5G/5.5G USB only?

If so, can you still find accessories (line out cable, car charger, dock mount) for the 5G/5.5G model?

If you're talking about the firewire, then it will charge but not sync a newer iPod.

A 3G iPod charger will charge a 5/5.5G iPod. It will not however work on an iPod Classic or newer model.

So, the summary:

1) You can charge a 5G/5.5G iPod using any firewire or USB charger.

2) You can sync a 5G/5.5G iPod only using a USB sync cable.
