I used to have 7.41gb of music on my ipod but with V4 I can't sync my entire library!

What's up with changing the Operating software and stealing over 1gb of storage space! This what Apple calls progress...I need to BUY a larger capacity iPod touch to store the same data I had on my current iPod touch.

This SUCKS! :mad::mad::mad:

The new OS takes up about 180 MB more. So you obviously had 7 GB before the upgrade, not 7.4 GB.

My iMac say that my music library is 7.41gb

I used to be able to sync my 8 gb iTouch with my iMac. The iMac says that my Musuc library is 7.41gb and it all used to be on my iTouch, but since I "upgraded to OS 4 I can't sync the entire library.

YUP same here. After upgrading to iOS4 my 8GB iPod is now a 6.84 GB iPod.

Same here with my 8gb. I'm not overly bothered though as I only store a small amount of music on my ipod touch. I keep all my music on my 80gb ipod video. I mostly use my touch for games and an odd movie but I know what you mean. With the iOS 2 i got well over 7gb space, it went down to 7gb with the iOS3 upgrade. Now it's been reduced again but that's the price we pay for updates.

How do you find 8g of music? Thats 2000 songs, or did you have some apps?

1 KB is 1024 Bytes
1 MB is 1024 KB
1 GB is 1024 MB

Factor this maths in, as well as the relatively small software size, and you're at 14GB

Thanks, but I'm aware of how to work out sizes. I was mearly pointing out that he's moaning about loosing a few extra hundred meg

pac

Sorry about being a grammar freak but i cant stand it, that's not how you spell merely. :)

OP, you should buy the 4G!

Exactly, i wish they would account for all your setting and stuff when they say that it has 16gb of storage, but i guess it's true.

I have a 32gb iTouch. I recently upgraded to iOS4 and I now have 29.3gb available. So, that's 2.7gb allotted to iOS4. I have 80 apps (no music yet, have to redo my iTunes Library), and have 28.2 free.

Finding 2000 songs is not hard. I've got over 1000 in iTunes, and now that I have my 32gb, I plan on expanding that X 2 or 3. ;)

I know finding 2000 songs is not hard.
