Problems include:
Dropping wifi passwords .
Double/triple clicks per screen tap.
Screen shifting.
Screen zooming in and out slightly.
When type and i use the back space it'll occasionally delete a whole sentence/message.
Freezing.
App crashes.
Some apps impossible to use at all.
Not registering screen swipes.
And more.

It's driving me crazy. Any known fixes or news upcoming updates?
Failing that, anyway to remove software updates?

I have a 32g Touch 4g that's been updated, and I've had none of the problems you're describing.

You might try a hard reset: hold the home button and top/power button down at the same time, till you see the Apple symbol.

How old is it? Has it been dropped or anything else?

I'm still using my original first gen ipod Touch. I may be upgrading to a 4th gen tomorrow-- but Im wondering, are the updates free or does Apple still pull that "update software for 10 bucks" crap for iPod Touch users as they did the first time around?
