I've been using a 4th generation iPod Shuffle for podcasts for years. I updated it on a 2012 MacBook Pro with iTunes. My MacBook died last month. I now use an M1 Air (14.6.1) with the Apple Podcasts app. I can only get the iPod to play one podcast at a time (then it repeats the same podcast) after synching with the Air, even though I have downloaded and saved several podcasts to the Air. I've tried all the 'synching variations' to no avail.

I have access to a Windows 10 machine with iTunes. Can I simply connect the Mac-formatted iPod to iTunes on Windows 10? I have no problem if the iPod is reformatted to Windows and have to reload my podcasts, but I would be devastated to 'brick' the iPod and render it useless (I know it's 'obsolete' but it worked with iTunes!). Please be nice. Budget is an issue and my podcasts important. Thanks for any clarity.

If your iPod was restored (and thus formatted) on a Mac, it will work only on Macs. But an iPod restored by iTunes on Windows can be synced on either Macs or Windows machines. I don't have a Shuffle, but I've restored various iPods using iTunes on Windows, always with good results. If you can use iTunes on Windows 10 to restore and sync your Shuffle, you'll probably find that it works better than using Podcasts.app/Finder.

Hi Grumpus! Thanks so much for the quick and positive reply! I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box, but I've been a Mac user for 30 years and never had the issues I have with the Apple Podcast app . I will definitely restore on Windows 10 and hopefully get more than one podcast to play on my Shuffle that's been working properly with iTunes for the last 15 years! Thanks again!

Hi again Grumpus. Worked like a champ! Multiple podcasts on the Shuffle and even got my 'correct' button functionality back! Gimme iTunes vs Podcasts app every time! Thanks again.
