iPod touch ipod 4th gen .. need help asap

okay so i lost my ipod for about a month ... i get it back from one of my friends who says he found it on the floor ... his only problem is he is Japanese.. so this one is obvious ... so i look at the ipod .. its completely locked and its in Japanese... so im assuming he changed it ...... so its locked and i cant restore it ... is there any way to do a factory default reset? any help is greatly appreciated =] thankss
