I bought my great granddaughter an iphone 5, but have found the data usage is far more than I can afford, she keeps going over the 3 gb, so had to block data. She now wants an ipod 5, she said it doesn't cost anything to use it on WiFi. Is she right? I am not sure what to do now. :confused:

That is correct. It only uses wifi for data, so there would be no data charge.
 
She is correct about the charges. Excluding the internet bill, there is no monthly reoccurring bill to use an iPod Touch. As long as you have a WiFi network with an active internet connection, it'll work just fine.
