Ipod 5G 30GB battery life

Hey all,

First off, I want to apoligize to everyone or the question below as im sure it is the most questioned topic of the ipod. I did search the forums for this but it gave me like 500 results for unrelated threads. I dont rele have time to read them.

Basically, How long does your Ipod 5G 30GB battery life last for playing music with options such as backlight etc. turned off? I dnt rele care about the 2hrs video playback. I will only watch family guy episodes etc.

I'm set to buy one as I'm selling my mini but the appalling reviews on Amazon.co.uk are kinda putting me off.

i was really worried about this at first when buying a video as my ipod mini had been amazing, well personally the battery isnt brilliant but its a lot better than i expected. i can watch about 2 movies and listen to music before it runs flat, but the battery meter is very unaccurate, one minuete it will say its flat then the next it will be near full. While listening just to music i have never run out of battery, and i have a 5 sec backlight timer. the battery life is alot better than my other 4th gen ipod and the way i saw it was is if it really does get too bad, i can always buy a external or get the battery inside it upgraded when the next versions come out (much like how the 1st gen mini had a terible batter and 2nd one brilliant) . to round it off ive never had a issue with the battery and i use mine constantly. i definatly recomend getting one.

If you won't be watching movies then the battery life will be fine.

It's set at 14 hours on the tech specs, so you should definatly be getting 12+ hours out of it for the uses you've described. (-family guy!)

All my friends who have the 30GB model are really happy with the battery, saying that apples stated 14 hours is about right.

IPOD battery life for 5G 30 GB

Hi - i seriously need some advice on whether to replace the battery or not. I've had the IPOD for approx 3 years but now find that the battery wil only last for approx 15 minutes when playing video. It also shuts down when I have played 3 consecutive videos one after the other.
Any suggestions?
