How does the alarm feature work in the new iPods?
Since the little buggers don't have a speaker that I know of,
does it just sound the alarm through the headphones?

So, if I'm correct, does this mean I have to sleep with my headphones on in order to wake up on time?

Please tell me I'm wrong (and back it up with some facts).

No way for me to back this up, as I don't have a new iPod, but like you watch I expect it has a little piezoelectric transducer (wafer thin high frequency speaker) and I expect that Apple also thought that it would also sound through the headphones.

if you connect your new ipod through it's docking station to a stereo, it will alert you through the stereo.

Not exactly useful when traveling.
Hopefully Eniregnat is correct.
