iPod iPod and discolored screen

My girlfriend is on deployment and she said that she had her iPod Nano close to her laptop, not too close she says though. Now she claims there is a rainbow (colors) in the middle of her iPod Nano and it won't go away. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
