iPod iPod and iTunes Volume Adjustment

In my iTunes library, I have all the songs on the max it will go on volume adjustment ( right click the song>get info>options). I do this because there is a difference in iTunes, but when I update my iPod it doesn't make the songs any louder but maxes out the volume when its in the middle of the volume bar. IS there a way to just make the adjustment in iTunes and NOT the iPod?
