If it's set to auto-sync, then it will delete all the music on your iPod.

How do i turn auto-sync off? Because that would be bad to loose all my music.

Until recently you could only change iTunes preferences, if you had your iPod plugged in. With the last iTunes version you could have set it to be always changeable.

Why is your iTunes empty, BTW? Perhaps you should use an iPod ripper to get all the songs from the iPod back first. If it is another library, the iPod will ask you if you want to sync though, I think.
