I'm going back to grad school and considering recording each of my classes so that they are available to study from if needed.

Four questions:

1. I've heard that you could do this with a PowerBook's internal mic. Anyone have experience with this? Could it be done with the top closed? Could it use one of those old apple mics (the kind that I got with my revA G3 tower and I think came with iMacs)

2. If I went with the iPod option, would the iPod record using that same older mic?

3. How much better would the iPod be at this than the PB?

4. Anyone had experience recording lectures this way? Would your recommend it, or am I dreaming?

Basically I have to decide between the iPod and a good digital camera and I'm conflicted about it... (and yes, I'm taking into consideration the cram/jam deal)

Thanks!
