Ipod App and internet

Hi,

Every now and then, my ipod app connects to the web for.. something. I know this because of that circular load animation in menu bar. What is this for? can I disable it?

It's probably the genius feature. I think you can turn that off in the iTunes settings.

Ok I did, and it stoped (I used that limitation feature with the 4 digit code)

But after I completely shut down the iPod app via the multi task bar, I did it again. So no luck
