I was wondering if there is a way to make an iPod recognize audiobooks that are ripped from CD (or sometimes recorded from tape) as being audiobooks (so that they bookmark your place, even if you stop and listen to music, and also can slow them down or speed them up)?

I have ripped alot of my audiobooks from CD so that I can take them on trips with me easier (lugging around 23 discs for the last Harry Potter book, for example, is not convienient :p), but I would like to be able to use these features on the 4th gen iPod.

Is there some specific format I need to use? Can iTunes do a conversion, or do I have to re-rip everything? They are in MP3 format right now, of varying bitrates and sample rates.

Thanks a bunch,
Rob
