iPOD BACK GROUND PROCESS

ok so you are listening to music and get then you get an email, exit ipod app and open email app, and the music still playing, isn't that running an app in the background???? may sound stupid but i've had this question. is really avoidind that and its happening, am i wrong??

Yeah... there are all sorts of background processes going on. You just can't write an app that continues to run after it's quit. The iPhone couldn't even work if there weren't some background processes going.
