Has anyone found a device that allows a new iPod classic to successfully pair - when not in its cradle - with a Bose portable Soundock music system (the Bose is 18mths old) ?

The Bose Soundock hasn't got integrated Bluetooth, which means that if you're playing tracks ad hoc, or off-playlist, you have to keep returning to the Bose unit. It would be much easier to keep the iPod in your hand and select the tracks from there. (The Bose remote control is very basic so you can't select music from there - just forwards, backwards, next playlist etc).

I tried a device made by U-Play which promised everything I was looking for, but it was useless (kept dropping the connection).

I have tried an iPhone too of course, but the receiver's connection was still poor. Is it a problem with Bluetooth or Bose?

I would really appreciate some advice as it seems to be a device that people would want with a portable music system (without in-built bluetooth).

Cheers
Tim
