Hi, I'm thinking of buying a 2nd hand iPhone 2G but the flash-less camera puts me off the idea. However it occurred to me that if I use an old iPod camera connector and attach it to the iPhones dock then I should be able to use the camera connectors USB port to power a usb light like this:

Will this work? I can't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to use the usb port as a power source unless the firmware prevents me from doing so.
