I received for gift a black 120gb Ipod classic, almost never used but with the click wheel which shows some worn or dirty areas.
I tried to clean with damp cloth, tried with a isoprophilic alcol and cotton without any result.
I have and old Nano 3g with White click wheel and it is still in mint condition.
Is there anything I can do to restore my click wheel?

Have you tried wiping it with a drop of water/soap solution?
Make sure not to use much and rub it in well (not too hard though).
E careful that water doesn't enter the iPod if you use it.

I tried; no result
I believe this is not moisture but the satin finish of the wheel ruined by the rubbing of fingers

Ahh. Sounds like the cause.
I can suggest two things.
One, replace the click wheel. May be risky so not worthwhile.
Two, but a sticker on ebay to go over the ClickWheel. Pimp your iPod while you're at it ;)

Sticker is a nice idea!! I forgot the availability of skins for this device,
Thanks!
