Been lurking on this forum ever since i got my blackbook, It's a great resource of useful information.

Can anyone point me into the right direction on stopping my remote from controlling my universal ipod dock as well as, lets say, itunes? I use it alot to skip tracks on itunes and use front row but whenever i do so, my ipod starts responding to it also. I'd prefer it if i could just turn the IR reciever off on the dock.

Not a major issue, just slightly annoying.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried that, it comes up with the remote on screen with the little chain icon. But it still connects with my dock whenever i choose to do something.

Oh wait, I'm an idiot, pairing wont help you. Pairing is only useful in restricting the macbook to using only that remote, not restricting that remote to just the macbook.

My only suggestion is to put something over the dock's IR sensor.

Anyone got any good ideas for materials? I've tried multiple layers of plastic type paper, even foil and they don't seem to have any effect.
