Ipod docks speakers

I Have the Bose ipod dock thing it was 230 quid. and i was wondering if it is possible to hook it up to my iMac to use as speakers?
i don't think it has input or output ports. Is there a way like use the docking part an old ipod and make a cable to do it somehow
