Have got an Ipod touch, so when i plug it in it opens up itunes as you would expect but it doesn't show up in finder. I have ticked the box in preferences to allow it to and it still wont show up... any idea's?
Thanks Harry :p:apple:

IIRC, the iPod Touch does not allow itself to be used as disk space like previous iPod revisions (and therefore will not show up in the Finder). All the "Manually manage music and videos" option does is allow you to drag and drop music to and from the iPod. If you want to store files on the iPod Touch you'll need a third-party program to do so.

wow that's a lot of misinformation for one thread. The iPod touch does not do disk mode. No, it won't show up in the Finder, you can't drag files to it like disk mode iPods.

So does the Touch work as an external disk??

Does the iPhone do this too?

Sorry - Forget that. Just read the couple of posts above this which appeared whilst I was writing my post!

Not by itself, but there are apps that allow this, such as Air Sharing. Since they're third party, they work as wireless hard drives, so you can't transfer to them with USB. I can vouch for Air Sharing though, it works fantastically, and has Bonjour support and a web server, so you can even just get to it through Safari's Bonjour menu and access the files.

A lot of the newer Nikon DSLR use the same type of disk mount as iTouch. It's annoying to say the least.
