I just got the new 3rd gen Ipod for xmas. I bought one for the wife not thinking she was thinking like me. Anyway, hers functions like a dream and mine freezes every 5 minutes or less no mater what. i have registered and reset it using Itunes and confirmed software upgrade and everything. I have tried every trick I could find on the net but nothing keeps it from freezing. I am totally frustrated because it never functions long enough to be of any real use. Yes I can load and play songs etc.

Any other suggestions? I am thinking of taking it back and simply replacing it because it is not working at all like the one I got for my wife. It is only 2 days old.

As an aside I noticed that the SN# on the sales receipt and the one on my Ipod do not match. Did I get a repackaged bad one? Also we are unable to connect by wi-fi to my secured network even though I have confirmed the right password and everything with my router. We can connect to my neighbors unsecured network no problem. My router is over 5 years old but should that matter? Is there something my router is doing to block us out?

Any ideas are welcome.
