iPod function - fast forward podcasts or music?

Is there an interface to fast forward music, like a draggable time slider? Holding down the FF button and not being able to see where in the track I am and doing it blindly kinda sucks...

Yep. In vertical mode with it displaying the album, tap the album once and you'll see the off/repeat all/repeat 1 toggle, the time slider and the shuffle button at the top.

Thanks so much for the answer to this. yayaba: I _can_ believe you missed this! I can't believe how I was expected to find this by myself - there is no hint of its existence that I could find. What am I missing? How should I have learned to do this other than from this most excellent forum?
