This has been going on for about a month. My iPod is flashing a battery icon, it is also not colored. I have t ried charging it and that has not worked. I have tried the apple support page, I tried all of the available options, but none of them have worked. I have also had the folder with an exclamation point. I got it to work once on my Windows computer by upgrading the software, but when I switched to my new iMac, it went back to having those problems. I have the updated firmware and iTunes.. Any suggestions?:(

Try to reset it first, different for every iPod (see your manuel).

If that doesn't work, restore your iPod. Before you restore it make sure all the music you had on it is on your computer or it will be gone, forever.

Hope it all works out.

how old is the ipod?

if its within a year, bring it to the genius bar and they may sort it out, either by fixing it or replacing it

The closest Apple store is in Texas, and i am one state over.
