I have some questions about these:

1) Do they work with the iPhone 3G S? Yes, -S-!

2) Can I answer calls from them with the mic?

3) Are they really that good/recommend them?

Seeing as they have the same remote as the standard headphones which are included with the iPhone 3G S, I'd assume they would work with the iPhone 3G S. Providing that they work, you can in fact receive calls with them. I don't have any personal experience with them, however when they were released others said that they provided good sound for the price.

Yes they do. Look at the compatibility list on the apple website. It does not list the 3G, but does list the 3GS.
