so i plugged my iPOD touch into my macbook today, and it said it needed to "UPDATE" my iPOD. i clicked on the download and install option, and now my iPOD is stuck!
it keeps saying "ITUNES HAS DETECTED AN IPOD IN RECOVERY MODE. OU MUST RESTORE THIS IPOD BEFORE IT CAN BE USED WITH ITUNES."
however whenever i click OK...it tries to do the restore but only to have it fail! and then after it says "THE IPOD COULD NOT BE RESTORED. AN UNKNOWN ERROR OCCURRED (1603).
does anyone know what this means?
whats wrong w/my iPOD?! HELP PLEASE :(

try download a program called iNdependence and see if that can get it out of recovery mode.

Ha, I had that a little while back.

In order for iTunes to restore my iPod, I had to create a new account on my computer, reinstall iTunes, and then use the new account/iTunes to restore the iPod.

That took me a while to figure out, hopefully it works for you too!
