Example: I set the date to 8/10/10, 10:20PM and after a few hours, when I turn it on again, the date becomes 8/11/10 and 10:20AM. Just a note: I did return from China recently so I switched my time zone to Shanghai but upon my return to Maryland, I changed the time zone back to Washington DC (on both the calendar time zone support and the regular date/time options).

I don't know what's wrong!?

Sync it with your computer. That should set it straight. (After of course you set your computer to the proper time settings.)

Update: that did not do the trick, checked this morning and alas, it is back to china's time/date (12 hours ahead)

If multiple syncings doesn't work, just keep a watch on you and manually change the date/time.

Or just sync it at night when you go to bed

Had the same problem recently. I would change the time on the ipod then sync and it would revert back to a hour behind. A few weeks before my pc time was off by one hour. I fixed that but my ipod keeps the old time no matter what i did. So i reluctanty did a itunes restore and it fixed it.

ah I'm trying to stay away from restoring my ipod - that would be the last resort but I am definitely not manually resetting my calendar/time everyday..

I had this problem too. For me it seemed to happen whenever I played the Parallel Kingdom app. So if you have the app too it's probably the problem.

Its not really that big a deal. Just backup before in itunes then restore. After that restore from a backup and everything will be the same as before. Just make sure the time is correct before you restore.

Exact same problem

I've been having the same problem with my touch. I can tell you it's not because you went to china. But yeah, mine changes from pm to am constantly...and I have yet to find a solution other than to restore everything. If anyone DOES find a way to fix this, let me know

mine always goes back 4 hours...is there a write up on to do a reset without losing anything on the touch?

In a jailbroken iDevice, delete the cache file /var/root/Library/Caches/locationd/cache.plist after this is done locationd services will recreate the file and time will be correct.

My wife's 3rd Gen iPod Touch does this exact same thing. It will jump ahead 12 hours on it's own. Sync'ing does nothing and I don't think she has a restore point before this started happening. I'm hoping not to have to reset the whole device and start over.

If anyone finds a fix, please post it here!

Another use had similar problems. He restored his iPod and everything was all better. (just make sure you backed everything up on iTunes)

I have a jailbroken ipt2g, and i will definitely try this. i've been having this problem ever since i went to new york for a month, and then tried to change the time back to dallas time. and now, it skips to 11 hours ahead. its actually very annoying in the Facebook app, where it says the most recent posts were 11 hours ago.

Mine, too. The 12 hr. change really messes up your alarms. Can't trust it to wake me anymore. Haven't found a real answer, but guess I'll try the reset thing. What a mess.
