iPod iPod Keeps freezing up

I have a 60GB iPod with color display. Every few months it will start skipping through all the songs in an album and then freeze up. The screen won't even go dark. I have done a hard reset, but I keep having this problem. Is there anything I can do to stop it?

Yeah, i have. I took it to the store yesterday and they said my hard drive is dead. Thanks, though.
