Could not find another thread on this topic so here goes. Sometimes when I listen to my music then stop and lock the phone when I return to listen to music hours later (an example would be on the way to work then on the way home) the iPod no longer dispalys a now playing option and has lost which song I was listining to. Anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?

This has been a problem (along with losing the meta data) since the day the original iPhone was released. I have posted a couple of threads about it over the last year and a half but almost no one seems to care about it or even notice it happening. It was a much worse (more often) of a problem before the most recent firmware update but is still a problem. I just don't understand why the current play position and all current meta data can't be keep in a "safe" file the way most other data is.

Here is a thread I started a few months ago.

at least I'm not the only one with the problem but there does not seem to be a solution
