I was quick to sell the ipod mini that came with my new ibook to my next door neighbors. These are my close friends so I was very much annoyed when I herd they had been having issues with it. Sometimes it refuses to turn on or connect with their imac g5 are these common issues and what can I tell them to do about them?

applecare?

You can always try restoring your iPod to the latest software from Apple... if that doesn't help, it's a hardware issue - get a new one.

Agreed, a restore really should help unless your hard drive has failed. In the meantime, a simple reset can do wonders (middle button and top of the click wheel). :)

I hope you get it working for them soon. :)
