Bought an iPod mini off the Apple website on March 19th, the estimated shipping date was April 9th. So i waited and waited... only to get an email today saying that my iPod will be DELAYED for 3 more weeks!
Here is the email apple sent out.

To Our Valued Apple Customer:

Dear Apple Customer,

Thank you for ordering the new iPod mini!

The demand for the iPod mini has been incredible. We are shipping them as
quickly as possible, but we cannot meet the ship date we previously estimated
for you. We now expect to ship your iPod mini in three weeks. If we do not
hear from you prior to shipment, we will assume the revised date is
acceptable, and will ship your order. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Your business is very important, and we want to put an iPod in your hands as
quickly as possible. Therefore, as an alternative, we offer you a 10% discount
on a 15GB, 20GB, or 40GB iPod, any of which would ship within 24 hours. To
take advantage of this alternative, please call 800-676-2775, extension 56500,
Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. central time and
Saturday and Sunday between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. central time.

If the revised ship date for the iPod mini is unacceptable, and if you are not
interested in a discounted iPod, please let us know and we will change or
cancel your order per your instructions, and if appropriate, issue a refund.
You may send an email to <customerconfirm@apple.com> or call 800-676-2775,
extension 56500, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. central
time and Saturday and Sunday between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. central time.

We fulfill all orders in the order they are received. To check the status of
your order, visit <http://www.apple.com/orderstatus>. When your iPod ships,
you will receive a Shipment Notification via email explaining how you may
track the shipment.

Sincerely,
The Apple Store Team

that's just not right.

The white iPods are just slightly smaller than a deck of cards. If you can hold a deck of cards comfortably in your hand, then an iPod would feel the same. They aren't that heavy, and you won't notice them in your pocket.

If it were me, I'd go with the 15 gig. Because that extra space will come in handy, especially if you can use it for an external drive. They're not really fingerprint magnets, but they are scratch magnets. The only place you notice is the screen, and I would expect the mini to have the same screen cover, thus the same scratch problem.

3 weeks ...

I was in a store today buying some junk and the guy said the iPod Mini won't even hit Japan until JULY

Suddenly 3 weeks doesn't sounds that bad, does it?

Got the 15 gig one instead for the same price as the mini. I'm sure i'll be happy with it... no syncing would be nice.
