iPod mini Question

I have a 3rd gen 10 gig iPod set up with my mac already. My brother just got an ipOd mini and he wants to sync his up with my mac, will this be a problem? I hooked his iPod up to my machine already via firerwire and iTunes immediatly updated all the songs in my Library onto his Pod, but then it disconnected its self. So i unplugged it then plugged it back in and within 2 seconds it disconnected its self again. Any help?

This is normal behaviour. If you want it to stay connected you need to enable disk mode.
