iPod Mini's - Whats up?

iPod mini's have shown up on the Apple Refurb store the last two weeks. the 8hr version $149 and the 18hr version $159. Whats up with that? Have they not been off the market for about a year? Are they going to bring them back? I know there are many people who really liked the form factor and alumuminum enclosure...

No. They're not bringing them back. Those are very likely units that were covered under warranty and someone had a problem with them. Apple then exchanged that for a new unit and those are the units that have been fixed and Apple are now selling as refurb.

I had Apple do this for me when my 3rd Gen iPod started acting up. Apple replaced it with a new unit, and they're probably going to fix my old one and sell it as a refurb.
