Hello,
first of all I know this is a iPod touch forum section but it looks like there is no iPod section ... isn't that strange ?

Well I have a question about my brand new iPod nano 4G (this is my 1st Apple product ;) )

When I switched it on, there was the nice white Apple logo displayed on the screen on a black background. I would like to know if there is a tweak to display it again somehow .. as a screensaver or something.

That's your iPod booting up.

It can't be a screensaver or anything but if you want to see it again just reset the iPod by holding the Menu and Select buttons down at the same time for about 10 seconds or so.
