iPod touch Ipod Nano 5th gen Songs missing?

I plugged in my ipod to my computer and when i put a song on the ipod it synced it correct but all my music is not there, when i checked my memory tab to see if it was still there it was, but in the "other" category?

Can i Restore it from a back up file or is the music there and I just need to change a few settings? Thanks for your time!

Whoah, that's really strange.

Has this worked in the past and now is suddenly not working? What's the background story with this problem?
