As the thread title says. I'm running iTunes 12.0.1.26. I tried to update songs and podcasts on both our iPods this evening and neither is being recognized by iTunes. It's in the finder and I can eject it as normal that way but as far as iTunes is concerned they don't exist. Has anyone else run into a similar situation and if so is there a fix?

I should add that I connected my iPad and phone and both showed up as they should. Thanks for any insight anyone might have.

Edit: I just checked to see if there were any backups for either iPod in iTunes and none appear in preferences. I'm not sure if iPods even back up through iTunes as I've never payed attention before but I assume they do.

Ahh yes that's the ticket. Thanks. Didn't know why I hadn't added that. Funnily enough my daughters old iPod touch sync'd just fine. Hopefully 10.10.3 will come along shortly. This is the first glitch I've run into.

Yeah, no problem with the Touch here either. You know, the saddest thing about it is that there's been a few threads about it, yet unlike a lot of problems Apple has at the moment, it's very low key. It totally says to everyone that the iPod is so dead at this point that a lot of people no longer are syncing them on a daily/monthly basis.

iPod Nano 6th/7th Gens not recognized in iTunes

Yep. Sucks when you not only use it for music but really gets to be a hassle when you have several podcasts you follow!
