After a mere month since the last nano update? No need to worry - buy now.
It was near enough whole year between nano updates remember.

You shouldn't have to worry about going obsolete anytime soon if you get the 2nd gen nano

I think the 2G nano is going to hang around for a while. They've got all the kinks in the original's design worked out (by totally scrapping the original design and going back to the mini) and capacities are very good now for the price.

I think it will be quite a while before we see any update to the 2G nano.
